Introduction to Counselling and Counselling skills is over eight weeks.

We will explore what is meant by active listening.  Identify the need for an ethical framework within the helping relationships and learn to give and receive constructive feedback on the use of counselling skills in a counselling practice group (triads).

This is a face to face course, NOT an online course. You will be expected to attend every week to complete the course and achieve your Certificate.

We will look at what counselling is and is not, why it is useful and through role-play (triads), enable you to experience counselling. We will look at how clients show their feelings, how you respond effectively to clients and how you manage a counselling session.

 Develop a basic understanding of a few of the theories or Models that are used within Counselling

 Develop your silencing skills

 Discover how Non- Judgement and Congruent you are?

 Explore what is Empathy and have you got any?

 Use counselling skills and reflect on how you use those skills.

 What are referrals? Identify other agencies for referrals.

Bring a pen and paper.

A workbook will be provided but you may want to take extra notes.

Coffee and tea is available.


The course costs £395

There is a non-refundable deposit of £50

All payment MUST be paid 4 weeks before the course starts.

Full refunds minus the non-refundable deposit of £50 will only be returned if you cancel 7 days prior to the course start date.
